Hi, I’m Brian Casel.

I’ve been building software for 20 years — as a developer, a designer, and a founder of multiple SaaS businesses. For most of that time, if you wanted custom software for your business, you had two options: pay for SaaS that didn’t quite fit, or hire developers to build something that did.

AI changed that. For the first time, people who aren’t developers can actually build the apps, agents, and internal tools their businesses need. Not prototypes. Not toys. Real software that holds up.

But “build it yourself” is easier said than done. The demos make it look like magic. The reality is that most people get a prototype working and then stall out — because a working prototype isn’t a reliable business tool. The difference between the two is everything a professional builder knows about design, architecture, and process.

That’s the gap Builder Methods is built to close.

Why this, why now.

Something fundamental has shifted in software. The leverage a business owner, operator, or small team can have is unlike anything that’s come before.

I think every business is going to need an in-house builder — someone who can build and ship real tools that fit how the business actually works. That role didn’t exist ten years ago. It couldn’t. Today it’s the single biggest competitive advantage available to a small business.

The problem is that most content on AI-powered building is either pure hype or buried in developer-land. The people who most need to learn this — business owners, operators, in-house builders — are stuck between breathless demos and tutorials written for engineers.

Builder Methods is my answer. Practical systems, clear thinking, and a real path from “I’ve seen the demos” to “I’ve shipped the tool.” No hype. No pretending it’s easier than it is. Just the craft behind real software, taught for the people who need it.
